Labouring job vacancies: where are the most vacancies

%%IMG11%%

Labouring job vacancies are one of Australia’s regular employment providers. Here we spotlight those areas providing the most vacancies.

Western Australia
The mining boom is good news for labouring job vacancies. It is expected that over the next 10 years, this employment sector in WA will account for 55% of Australia’s total national growth in demand for labour.

There will be a dire need for unskilled and other low-skilled workers in the mining industry, with labourers in particular demand as the amount of projects soars. The massive Gorgon gas project, costing $43 billion and set to be the nation’s largest resources project, will require tens of thousands of staff. As well as 31,000 extra tradesmen, this will also include 30,000 labourers.

The Gorgon project will also have a knock-on effect. As workers are lured to this part of WA, there will be labour shortages in other areas of the state, meaning that labourers will be in high demand throughout the region.

Queensland
The longest tunnel project in Australia is currently underway below the state capital of Brisbane. The two largest tunnel-boring machines to ever operate in the country are churning though the ground from the city to the airport on the city’s eastern outskirts.

Combined with the construction of the next stage of the Northern Busway from Windsor to Kedron and the Airport Drive connection flyover, this road and tunnel project is the biggest in Australian history. Labouring jobs will be required at this location for a considerable length of time.
