Melbourne Jobs: best place to find engineering jobs
Earlier this month it was stated that the nerve centre of the National Broadband Network will be based in Melbourne. Employment opportunities are set to rise in Melbourne, as this epicentre will be employing at least 425 people. NBN said the national operations and test facilities will all be based in Melbourne. The chosen location is in the well known Digital Harbour precinct at the Docklands. Melbourne’s Digital Harbour has been the choice location for other major companies and has given Sydney yet another defeat in the employment stakes. Costs appear to be one of the major factors when looking at building business in Melbourne and Melbourne is being rewarded with a strong employment market, particularly for engineering jobs. Chief Executive Mike Quigley said as many as 425 people would be employed when this facility is fully operational early next year, but the regional and national benefits will also be felt. This success story in the engineering jobs sector is in addition to 290 staff that will be employed at NBN's office in Melbourne’s CBD which already houses the engineering and operations groups and associated staff. This facility is set to provide customers with high-speed services for businesses and residential customers throughout Australia. |
